Each CHAKRA CHAI Ayurvedic Superdrink is delicious and beneficial and they are all formulated with high Prana (“Life-giving force”), adaptogenic herbs to support the alignment of the Chakras. Choose the ones whose properties and tastes (Rasa) resonate most with how you feel and where you would like to feel more supported and aligned.

Every person who has tried CHAKRA CHAI has reported that they feel a difference. Yes. All of our ingredients are organic and where possible, Regenerative and/or Bio-Dynamic, from certified organic suppliers. We are in the process of acquiring our own organic certification asap!

No. We are not vegan because we use ghee and honey to maintain the Ayurvedic integrity of our products. We have done strenuous research to ensure animal by-products we use are of the highest quality and ultimately support the symbiotic relationship between humans and animals by partnering with humane and ethical suppliers. 

Ghee is an essential ingredient in Ayurveda. Made from butter, ghee undergoes a purification process called "clarification" which removes unwanted and difficult to digest sugars and proteins found in butter. It is a rich source of poly-unsaturated fats which, when ingested, stimulates the secretion of stomach acids to improve the breakdown of food and enhance nutrient absorption. Ghee is also enriched with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which decreases inflammation and butyric acid, a compound that contains essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and Omega 9, vitamins A, D, E and K as well other antioxidants. Importantly, ghee is known as a Yoga Vahi,a substance that enhances the healing properties of other substances when taken together.

Ayurveda utilizes honey, also a Yoga Vahi, as a vehicle best suited for carrying the active medicinal constituents of herbs deeper into vital organs through optimal absorption into the bloodstream, allowing those nutrients to penetrate deeper into the vital tissues of the body. Honey’s natural tendency to clear the channels of the body makes it very useful in helping the body eliminate imbalances. Ayurveda texts reveal that honey not only supports proper digestion, but also helps ward off stomach diseases and symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and heartburn by preventing the overproduction of hydrochloric acid. We use pure, sustainably sourced, raw honey.

Using an isolated bioactive constituent neglects potential synergistic effects that the primary bioactive components have with other compounds found in the herb.  Since CHAKRA CHAI’s Ayurvedic formulations seek to be synergistic and aligned with traditional Ayurvedic principles, we prefer to use whole herbs containing the highest, naturally occurring active compounds.

CHAKRA CHAI products are fresh.  Most processes used to prolong shelf life also compromise the efficacy of the herbs and the Prana (“Life-giving force”)” of foods and beverages.  Ayurveda means “Knowledge/Science of Life”, a principle tenet of our company and our products. Drink by the “Best Before” date stated on our bottles.

YES! CHAKRA CHAI tastes delicious warmed up! It is also a great replacement for and addition to, coffee. Just make sure you DON´T BOIL IT as this can compromise the plant power.  CHAKRA CHAI is also stellar with cereal or added to oatmeal!

Most herbs are considered safe to consume and have traditionally been used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There are also herbs that, dependent upon one's energetic makeup and unique constitution, are better to avoid. We recommend consulting with a licensed practitioner who is familiar with your medical history and current medications and supplements if you are currently pregnant, breastfeeding and/or have concern regarding the consumption of traditional medicines.

Adaptogens are a class of herbs, mushrooms and minerals that help protect the body from stress-induced dysfunction. In order to be classified an adaptogen; an herb must meet certain criteria: relatively non-toxic, affect both hypothalamic-pituitary/adrenal axis and sympathoadrenal systems, and assist in regulating organ and system functions.

Our Chais are, for all intents and purposes, caffeine free. Cacao does however contain trace amounts of caffeine alongside theobromine, a relative of caffeine. The amount of caffeine in a bottle of TRUTH (approx. 13mg) or LOVE (approx. 3mg) is minimal in comparison to that of a cup of coffee (approx. 80-180mg) or even green tea (approx. 30-45mg). Many people feel a buzz when they consume cacao due to the presence of theobromine, a subtly euphoric stimulant, and its entourage of trace minerals which stave off a mid-day crash and help maintain mineral levels.
